Alex Scagliola

Alex has over 10 years of experience working in Australia’s mental health space. Alex has spent time working toward obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, as well as a Bachelor of

Throughout his years of experience, Alex has been trained in delivering a wide variety of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Client Centred Therapy & Mindfulness Techniques. Alex looks to build rapport with all his clients through his humble & warm approach whereby he is known to bring a sense of humour to his sessions. Alex is committed to working with his clients to help identify their strengths and create meaningful change. Often that change is supported by his ability to create a safe space & listen to each of his clients’ individual stories where he can use his experience & knowledge to help change that narrative. Alex himself is a veteran and draws on that experience to work closely with first responders and other veterans.

Alex’s areas of expertise extend to working with adults, teenagers & youth clients who require support
with depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief & loss, trauma, family & relationship issues, self-harm, substance
abuse, domestic violence & anger management.

Sandi James

Sandi James is a registered psychologist with more than 20 years of experience working in mental health services, eating disorder treatment, addiction treatment and trauma recovery. Sandi is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation

The treatment approaches that Sandi utilises are trauma-informed and from a harm reduction perspective, utilising evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), ARISE Comprehensive Care, and iMove Program for Compulsive Exercise.

Sandi is a Certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach (intern) with the Carolyn Costin Institute providing
support and guidance with ‘in the moment’ challenges in eating disorder recovery. Sandi is also working
towards her PhD, researching Eating Disorder treatment for individuals who also experience Substance Use Disorder or have experienced trauma.

Sandi’s area of expertise extends to working with adults, teenagers and youth clients (10yrs+), and her
areas of interest include mental illness and trauma recovery, eating disorders, gender identity,
substance use, addiction and trauma.
